In 1982 Verne and Robin Olson started Olson Contruction in Huron, SD with a backhoe, a skid steer, a W-11 case loader and a utility vehicle. Work involved minor site preparation plus repair and installation of new sewer and water piping, as well as snow removal. In 1986 Olson Construction was relocated 3 miles north of Huron by Verne's sons and grandsons. Ownership and operation of this 80 acre facility and building site is owned and managed by Lanny, Tony, Robin and Randy Olson. Today Olson Construction employs 15 to 30 full and part time employees, as well as a variety of sub-contractors. Planning, estimating, engineering and accounting of jobs is performed in-house. |
